TECHS AND ASSISTANTS
Debbie Johnson LVT
Licensed Veterinary Technician
Debbie has been a member of the Harmony staff since 1995. She is a graduate of SUNY at Delhi, with an Associates degree in Applied Science and Veterinary Technology. Debbie has many years of experience and many areas of expertise. She is involved in reproductive work, and has done extensive work with puppy socialization and behavioral training. On the laboratory side, Debbie also enjoys microscope work, looking at aspirates of lumps, blood slides or reproductive slides. In her “free” time, Debbie loves to work with her Vizslas. She not only breeds them, but shows them in breed, obedience, and hunt tests. She shares her home with the Vizslas, her husband Tom, and her horse. Debbie is also a very gifted artist.
Donna Bucher LVT
Licensed Veterinary Techician
Donna joined the staff in April 2010, and it already feels like home. She graduated from SUNY at Canton. At her real home, she has two kids named Taylor and Jessie, an English bulldog named Toad, and 3 cats. She enjoys swimming, camping, reading, scrapbooking, and watching her son play baseball.
Melanie Speer LVT
Licensed Veterinary Technician
Melanie joined the staff in 2013. Her interest in Veterinary Medicine began many years ago when she joined an explorers group, led by Dr. Payton. She attended SUNY Canton, where she earned her Associates degree in Veterinary Science. She then transferred to Cornell University to pursue her Bachelors degree in Animal Science. Within the field of Veterinary Medicine, Melanie is most interested in behavior, radiology and client education. Melanie has many interests outside of work. She plays the saxophone in a number of groups, from community band to quartets. She is an avid cyclist and enjoys anything outside. You can find her hiking, skiing, kayaking or just playing with her dog in her spare time.
Sandy has been a member of the staff since 2001. She’s been working with animals since age eight, when she started showing dogs. Before starting at Harmony, she worked alongside her husband as an owner/operator of a forty cow dairy farm in Fort Plain. Sandy had worked in the Veterinary field since the age of 16 and has extensive avian knowledge. She also helps owners to develop a physical therapy plan for their pets after surgery. Sandy is currently studying for her technician’s license. She enjoys yoga, biking, gardening, and watching her daughter dance.
Nicole joined our staff as a Veterinary Assistant in April 2010. She graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1993 (Go Huskies!). She currently lives in Schenectady with her husband Douglas, their cats, and her miniature schnauzer, Schnapps. In her spare time she enjoys hiking with Schnapps, gardening, and fostering kittens for animals shelters every kitten season.
Misty joined the Harmony Vet Clinic staff in January of 2004. She graduated from SUNY Cobleskill in 2003 with an Associates degree in Applied Science. She loves spending time with her husband Shawn, two sons Landon and Logan, and her two dogs. She enjoys crafting, crocheting, canning, and many other outdoor activities like gardening in her flower garden.
Nicole Battista, LVT
Associates degree is animal science from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology. Nicole has been a tech for 20+ years. Specialized in medical oncology, Internal Medicine and emergency/critical care. Now working toward specialization in reproduction. Nicole has three dogs and 2 daughters. She enjoys spending time at home with kids and her animals.
RECEPTIONISTS AND MANAGEMENT
Mariah has been on the staff at Harmony since June 2011, but has been a part of the Harmony family much longer- her mom Diane Sickler was a receptionist here for over 25 years before she retired! Mariah lives on Sacandaga Lake with her son Benjamin and her two cats, Rascal and Ghost Rider.
Michelle joined our staff in 2014. She previously worked for the Saratoga County SPCA and was involved in shelter rescue for many years. She currently lives in Charlton with four dogs, five cats, three children and one “very patient husband!” She loves to hike with her dogs throughout our beautiful southern Adirondack region.
Katie is the newest addition to the Harmony Team. She has been grooming dogs for 14 years and continues to do it on the side as she grows with Harmony Vet Clinic. She also has a 10 year old son and a dog named Jade.
Michele has been a part of the Harmony staff since 1999. She has her Associates degree in Biology, a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Cornell University, and a Master’s degree in Health Systems Management from Union College. She is responsible for many administrative duties, but easily steps in to helps whenever she is needed. She is an all-around team player! Michele shares her home with a feisty long-haired Chihuahua named Pearl, and one playful orange-winged Amazon named Charlie. She is a Stephen King fan, enjoys watching movies, and also loves to travel.
Pam has been a member of the staff since 1995. She helps keep the clinic going in many ways wherever needed, from management to repairs or maintenance. Pam shares her life with her husband Dan and three dogs: Arvin, Etta and Sam the Dog. Arvin and Etta are German Shepherds, and Sam is a Bichon. Pam loves many outdoor activities, including fishing, camping, and hiking in the Adirondacks. She is an avid amphibian and rail enthusiast.
